Being in the translation business for decades has given us deep understanding and expertise in processing all major languages.
our methods
Project management
Complete monitoring of Every Project
It is exe’s obligation to meet the client’s expectations (and even exceed them), while at the same time preventing problems from occurring.
Therefore, we have developed a unique methodology for workflow monitoring and coordination. This includes the development of exe’s own real-time Translation Management System (TMS), exePort.
Although our managers take care of the whole process, our clients are always welcome to log into exePort and monitor the progress of their projects.
After carrying out an analysis of the extent and complexity of a translation project, exe’s managers select optimum means and procedures, prepare tools, and assign resources. Long-term experience enables them to make very precise time planning and accurate price estimates.
exe’s internal localization process has been developed in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 (replaces ISO 15038), for which exe is certified. exe has proven its flexibility many times over, and can accommodate any client’s specific process requirements.
Quality management
Complementarity of Automated and Human Control
We at exe are well aware of the fact that high complementarity between the automated and human aspects of quality assurance is a very important factor for achieving smooth-running quality management.
PRINCIPLES
exe’s methodology of quality management and criteria for quality assurance (QA) were compiled in line with ISO 9001, ISO 17100 (replaces ISO 15038) and with LISA/Microsoft QA standards. exe is ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 certified.
exe also always incorporates the client’s QA requirements into its processes.
TRANSLATION QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) BASICS:
1. Revision of translation: Independent linguistic revision/proofreading of the translation (source and target comparison throughout the whole text by another translator/revisor).
2. QA Automation: QA check with automation tools.
3. Quality evaluation by human:ubject matter language specialist performs a linguistic check on a translation sample using a special Language QA form based on LISA/Microsoft QA criteria.
4. Outgoing inspection: SW engineer does the file clean up and final technical inspection.
5. Outgoing inspection: Project Manager signs off on the project and delivers it back to the client.
A NOTE
exe’s quality management consists of a complex and extensive sets of methods, rules, tools, instructions, and processes which are integrated in exe’s internal information portal. It is not possible to replicate this on theweb site in full detail. Therefore, exe is willing to demonstrate any detail and part of its quality management upon request.
exe’s ATTITUDE TO QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Quality control and its continuous improvement has been an integral part of exe’s working processes since the very beginning. It not only ensures the monitoring of every working step of every project from beginning to end, but also involves many other quality-related tasks carried out before and after the immediate work done on a particular project.
exe’s quality control is based on precisely defined procedures that include resource management and selection criteria of (in-house team, freelancers, subcontractors), communication with clients and vendors, localization and translation, DTP, product testing, performance monitoring, and other tasks. Additionally, it defines performance criteria, QA criteria, issue management and escalation, the usage and assignment of supporting QA tools, and other related procedures.
Tools
Saving Money and Improving Translation Quality
Achieving high quality, speed, production and cost efficacy in translation and localization would not be possible without modern computer tools. Through a very sophisticated combination of CAT, MT, QA and DTP technologies, we ensure quality and consistency whilst enabling significant reductions in the cost of translation for our clients.
CAT – Computer Aided Translation Tools:
Every single word that passes through exe is processed using advanced CAT technology – Trados Studio, MemoQ, XTM, Memsource, STAR Transit, Idiom, Passolo, Alchemy Catalyst, and many others.
exe is an exclusive reseller of the CAT tool RWS Trados Studio in Slovakia.
MT – Machine Translation:
MT is performed by fully automated software that translates texts from one natural language to another. Currently, exe prefers the most progressive MT technology, which is based on large artificial neural networks (i.e. Neural Machine Translation – NMT). NMT takes the broader context of a whole text into consideration for more accurate translation and fluency. NMT engines have a high ability to learn and self-improve.
QA Tools – Quality Assurance Tools
exe utilizes many tools for automated translation quality assurance (e.g., Verifika, Xbench, QA Distiller, etc) as well as exe’s own tools which were developed internally to support translation production.
DTP Tools – Desktop Publishing Tools
exe performs multilingual DTP pre – and post – processing on translated files using almost all current DTP tools where ADOBE products play a dominant role.
Driven by developments both in CAT and DTP, translation is becoming more and more sophisticated, however, exe has mastered these technological challenges with ease.
Data security
Confidentality at the Core
exe treats all documents with complete confidentiality. Each employee must guarantee compliance with our terms and conditions befor dealing with confidential information.
exe’s company premises are comprehensively secured with alarms directly linked to the police.
exe is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 – the standard, which specifies complex requirements pertaining to information security management systems.
exe uses powerful antivirus protection and data-encrypting algorithms to protect all sensitive data. Entry to the server room is restricted by an access control system. A secure VPN connection is used and identification is secured with a token, a certificate and a PIN. Working data is stored in RAID data storage and is backed up
automatically on tapes, NAS and to Azure BLOB storage technology (geo-off backup store). The NAS disk stations and tapes are located offsite.
